This Amnesia "Alternate Playthrough" concept that never got off the ground. Behemoth, said he was going to put it on hold in order to work on something else (The Second Dimension, maybe?) and was also considering finishing development in another game engine (whether that was HP元 or another engine entirely, I don't remember). If I recall correctly, the maker of the mod, Mr. The last update on this project was in 2014 but I still have some hopes it'll eventually come out in one form or another, and I hope it does because even just from the trailer it looks amazing. (On a side note, it's kind of crazy how many other games and game styles have been "ported" to the HPL2 engine: side-scrolling platformer, kart racer, Pokémon, Tetris, Katamari, and. The last update on the project was in 2012 and it's unfortunate there was never even a tech demo because, even as simplistic as the demo map is, I probably would have messed around with this for a while, just rolling the Katamari ball-thing around collecting stuff ( including monsters). Katamari: The Dark Descent, from the guy who made Tetris: The Dark Descent, basically recreated the gameplay of the Katamari series in the Amnesia engine. There were also legit NPCs planned and modeled. For instance, there was a "lantern" that was basically a glowing ball that floated above the main character's hand, an animated propaganda ad for the space station that was the mod's setting, a working mirror (though still no character model for it to reflect), cool lighting changes in " The Light Room," and a buff custom monster that vaguely resembled a Tyrant (from Resident Evil) minus the claws. Spacies, while not officially discontinued as far as I know, had its last update in 2014 and looked super-promising, featuring a ton of custom models and some really cool concepts. They showed off a new, advanced-looking HUD, new screen effects with ripples across the screen, animated curtains that blew in the wind and had physics, and a crazy awesome parkour and repelling system (there was a Youtube video demonstrating this, but unfortunately it’s been removed). Horizon, discontinued in 2012, was a hugely-ambitious project where the team of developers was going to make every asset from scratch (no vanilla Amnesia models) and add all kinds of new features and gameplay mechanics to the game. Sure, it looks silly in comparison to almost everything that came before and after it, but it was crazy at the time (early 2012) to think that a new monster could be added to the game beyond the Grunt, Brute, and Suitor for use in custom stories. The Mongrel, one of the earliest custom monsters to be developed. What are some of your favorite mods or custom stories for Amnesia that never saw the light of day? I'm mainly thinking projects that have either been confirmed to be discontinued or haven't seen an update in several years.
